All three major field service platforms now have AI features baked in, but they're not building the same thing. Jobber is focused on AI reception and scheduling assistance. ServiceTitan is building a full AI intelligence layer called Titan Intelligence. Housecall Pro is rolling out AI across calls, accounting, and marketing.
Which one matters depends on your team size, your budget, and which daily headache you need solved first.
Pricing Overview
Before features, the money. Because the best AI in the world doesn't help if it doubles your software bill.
Jobber: Core starts at $39/month (1 user). Connect is $119/month. Grow is $199/month. Team plans run $169-$599/month. AI Receptionist is a $99/month add-on (included free on the Plus plan at $599/month). Jobber Copilot is free on all plans.
ServiceTitan: Base pricing starts around $300/month for small teams and scales up with users and add-ons. Dispatch Pro (AI-powered dispatching) is a paid add-on. Exact pricing requires a demo call.
Housecall Pro: Basic starts at $59/month (annual billing). Essentials is $149/month. MAX is $299/month. AI features like CSR AI and Marketing AI are included in higher-tier plans. HCP Assist (live answering) is available as an add-on.
The gap is significant. A 5-person plumbing shop could run Jobber Connect + AI Receptionist for roughly $218/month. The same shop on ServiceTitan with Dispatch Pro could be looking at $400-$500+/month. Housecall Pro MAX with all AI features lands around $299/month.

Jobber AI: What It Actually Does
Jobber Copilot (Free on All Plans)
Copilot is Jobber's built-in AI advisor. It creates tasks based on your schedule and customer data, provides scheduling and routing recommendations, and helps teams spot opportunities they'd otherwise miss.
For a solo plumber, Copilot might flag that you haven't followed up on three estimates from last week. For a 10-person shop, it surfaces scheduling conflicts and suggests reordering jobs to cut drive time.
It's not a magic button. It's a smart assistant that watches your data and nudges you toward better decisions. Think of it as a dispatcher who never forgets anything.
Jobber AI Receptionist ($99/month Add-On)
Answers inbound calls and text messages, checks your Jobber schedule for availability, and books jobs directly into your calendar. No third-party integration needed.
The $99/month price point makes it one of the more affordable AI phone answering options for contractors. The limitation: inbound only. It won't make outbound follow-up calls or handle messages from lead platforms like Thumbtack or Angi.
Jobber's AI Gaps
No AI estimating tool yet. No AI-powered marketing or content generation. No AI accounting. Jobber's AI strategy is narrower but more polished in the areas it covers.
ServiceTitan AI: What It Actually Does
Titan Intelligence (Platform-Wide AI Layer)
ServiceTitan isn't bolting AI features onto existing tools - they built an entire division dedicated to developing AI for the trades. Titan Intelligence is the umbrella name for all of it.
The pitch: an AI platform built specifically for home service contractors, not a generic chatbot repurposed for plumbing.
Dispatch Pro (Paid Add-On)
This is ServiceTitan's crown jewel AI feature. Dispatch Pro uses AI-powered job value predictions to assign the right tech to the right job - factoring in recent technician performance, estimated job revenue, drive time, and skill match.
The key difference from Jobber and Housecall Pro: Dispatch Pro optimizes for revenue, not just efficiency. It might assign a farther-away tech to a high-value job if that tech has a better close rate on big-ticket work.
Atlas AI Assistant
Atlas is ServiceTitan's AI sidekick that surfaces insights, handles tasks, and takes actions within the platform. It works like having a ServiceTitan power user available 24/7 who can pull reports, answer questions about your data, and flag anomalies.
Price Insights for Pricebook Pro
Shows how your pricing compares to the average selling price for each service in your region. This is a competitive intelligence tool disguised as a pricebook feature - and it's genuinely useful for AI-assisted estimating.
Smarter Routing (GA Summer 2026)
Visual map builder for technician routing with tighter optimization controls. Currently in private preview. This will close the gap on dedicated route optimization tools.
ServiceTitan's AI Gaps
No AI marketing content generation. No AI accounting. The platform's AI is heavily weighted toward dispatching and operational intelligence rather than marketing or finance.

Get StartedHousecall Pro AI: What It Actually Does
CSR AI (Included on Higher Plans)
Handles incoming calls, books appointments automatically, and logs customer details in your Housecall Pro account. It's their answer to Jobber AI Receptionist and ServiceTitan Voice Agents.
The advantage: included in the plan price on Essentials and MAX. No add-on fee. The disadvantage: reviewers have noted the newer AI features still feel somewhat unfinished compared to the core platform.
Marketing AI (Included on All Plans)
Generates email marketing content - campaigns, follow-ups, and promotional emails - written for your specific trade and customer base. This is a feature neither Jobber nor ServiceTitan offers yet.
For contractors who need help with lead generation content but don't want to hire a marketing agency, this is a real time saver.
Accountant AI (Included on Higher Plans)
Ask accounting questions directly inside Housecall Pro and get instant answers based on your books, transactions, and reports. Instead of exporting to a spreadsheet and guessing, you can ask "What was my average job profit margin last month?" and get an answer.
This is unique to Housecall Pro. Neither Jobber nor ServiceTitan has an AI accounting feature.
Housecall Pro's AI Gaps
No AI dispatch optimization on par with ServiceTitan's Dispatch Pro. No AI-powered estimating. The scheduling AI is functional but not as sophisticated as the revenue-weighted optimization in Dispatch Pro.
Which Platform Wins for Which Contractor?
Pick Jobber If:
- You're a solo contractor or small shop (1-5 techs)
- You want the lowest total cost with useful AI features
- You value simplicity over feature depth
- You need an AI receptionist at a reasonable add-on price
Pick ServiceTitan If:
- You run 10+ techs and need revenue-optimized dispatching
- You're willing to pay premium pricing for the deepest AI dispatching in the industry
- Your operation is complex enough to benefit from Titan Intelligence
- You want AI estimating tools with competitive pricing data
Pick Housecall Pro If:
- You're a small to mid-size shop (1-15 techs) that wants the broadest AI feature set for the price
- Marketing AI and Accountant AI matter to you
- You want AI call answering included in your plan, not as an add-on
- You need a balance of features and affordability

The Honest Take on AI in Field Service Software
None of these platforms have fully mature AI yet. Jobber's Copilot is free but limited. ServiceTitan's Dispatch Pro is powerful but expensive. Housecall Pro's newer AI features score well on breadth but some feel unfinished.
The best move: pick the platform that fits your operation and budget first, then use whatever AI features come with it. Switching platforms just for AI is almost never worth the migration pain.
If you're already on one of these three and haven't turned on the AI features, do that this week. They're either free or cheap add-ons, and even modest improvements in scheduling and call answering pay for themselves within a month.
